What Funko lines do you collect? How many pieces are in your collection?

While I have many Harry Potter and Batman pieces, my favorite collection is my Marvel set. I have about 75 Marvel, 10 Harry Potter, 10 Batmans, and a few fun others Pop!s like King Kong, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, and a Piper Chapman for my daughter, Piper.

How long have you been a collector?

5 years

What are your favorite fandoms?

I think I'm a pretty biased Marvel fan... but Batman still rules!

What was your first Funko item?

#9 The Thing Pop!

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

As a homage to who started it all, I have my Stan Lee Comikaze Pop! in my basement gym which is where I keep my favorite superhero and sports collectibles.

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

I actually became a collector because of a student I taught! At the end of my fifth year of teaching 4th grade in 2012, a student and her mom (and avid superhero fan herself) brought me an end-of-the-year gift in a big box. I opened it up to find my first 6 Marvel Pop! Vinyls: The Thing, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, and Wolverine. I had never seen them before and became instantly hooked. I lost a lot of my childhood toys in a flood when I was younger so I am making up for it with my collection! I keep most of them in my classroom since I'm in my room more time during the day than I'm at my own house-meaning it should include things I enjoy! My students love having them in our classroom and I think they've helped spawn not only a lot of questions about superheroes, but even more, an interest (from both boys and girls) in heroes and comics they hadn't had before.
