What Funko lines do you collect? How many pieces are in your collection?
I mainly collect Pop!s, but I have a few plush, Mystery Minis, Rock Candy, Vynls, and Wacky Wobblers. Right now I have 218 Pop!s, and 25 other Funko pieces, and I'm just getting started! My husband and I just bought our first house and we turned our 3rd bedroom into what I call my "Pop! room"!
How long have you been a collector?
I started collecting just one year ago!
What are your favorite fandoms?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Twilight, Harry Potter, The Walking Dead, The Lord of the Rings, Stranger Things, Disney, and of course Marvel and DC!
What was your first Funko item?
Technically my first Funko items were my Walking Dead Rick, Daryl, and Michonne Wacky Wobblers that my husband bought me for Christmas a few years ago, but I didn't even realize they were Funko pieces until I started collecting Pop!s recently. My first Pop! was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was a gift from a friend a few years ago as well, but I didn't start collecting until my birthday last year when my best friend gave me the Niffler from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Pop! It was the cutest thing ever and it sent me down the rabbit hole of Pop! collecting, so I always give the Niffler credit for starting it all!
What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?
That's a 4-way tie between my original Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sparkly Edward Cullen, Edward Scissorhands, and the Niffler!
Tell us your favorite Funko story!
I have so many favorite Funko stories, but what I'm going to cherish the most are the amazing memories I have of all of my Pop! hunting trips with my mom. We have gone on so many Pop! hunting adventures to find all the Pop!s I have wanted for my collection and I'll never forget all the wonderful days we've spent hunting and all the crazy stories we have from some of the places we've ended up on the search. The thrill of finding the ones we were looking for and the pure of joy of finding gems we never thought we'd find in person are what make the Pop!s even more special now. And I'll never forget the joy I felt after sitting at my computer hitting the refresh button like crazy waiting for Funko to drop the NYCC Statue of Liberty Freddy and actually being one of the lucky ones to buy him before he sold out in seconds. The memories I have Pop! hunting with my mom, and all the "Pop!-Talks" I've had with my best friend and husband are what make my collection so special to me. And I imagine that's why we all collect the Pop!s we do, because they bring back, and sometimes even create, cherished memories.
