When did you first learn about Funko?

I first learned about Funko back in April 2015. I'm a huge Marvel fan and I heard about the launch of the Marvel Collector Corps Box - so of course I signed up immediately! I fell in love with the design of the figurines and the shirts, and I've been a big fan ever since.

Do you remember what your first Funko piece was?
The 6" Hulkbuster in the Marvel Collector Corps "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Box! Love that piece, and have gotten every Collector Corps box since!

Why are you a Funatic?

What I love most about Funko is how authentically the company engages with its fans, and how much that engagement brings all of us Funko Funatics together. I've met so many people in the community - especially over the last year! - that I now consider to be great friends even though we haven't (yet!) met in person.

What are your favorite fandoms and why?

Marvel (all of it, from Avengers to X-Men!), Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Disney & Pixar, Star Wars (especially The Mandalorian!), Wonder Woman, NFL, NBA, and US Women's National Soccer among many others.
All of these speak to me because of the incredible characters & personalities you find here, and the compelling stories of challenge & triumph. How can you not love a GREAT story, right??

Why do you love pop culture?

I love pop culture because it's endless. "Everyone's is a fan of something" (thanks for that, Funko!) - and there are an unlimited amount of options in the pop culture space that can speak in some meaningful way to every single person.

How do you display your collection?

I typically display my collection out of box at work (where I have a whole display set up!), and then in box at home so I can stack them in an organized way. I 100% respect the choice of in box collectors! I just personally love being able to see the 360-degree detail of the amazing sculpts.

What movie/show/podcast/videogame/album are you currently watching/listening to/playing?

I'm currently in a chronological re-watch of the Marvel movies from Captain America: The First Avenger to Spider-Man: Far From Home - I can never see these movies too many times. Also currently playing Diablo III on the Switch, and the Frozen 2 soundtrack is on loop in our house right now as that's the first movie my wife and I took our kids to see in theaters!

Is there anyone you share your fandom with?
My 4 year old daughter already has a little Funko Pop! collection that she's very proud of - her favorites are Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, Ariel, Rapunzel, and Elastigirl! And my 2 year old son just got his first Batman Pop! from mama earlier this week, so it's a big week for him! :) One of my brothers collects Deadpool Pop!s, and my father has a few I've gifted him over the years - Scrooge McDuck in particular!

What's your favorite Funko memory?

I had the chance to visit Funko Hollywood very recently - and I will never forget how I felt when I walked into the store. It's like my heart opened up and poured out pure joy at seeing this larger-than-life place that held so many of my favorite fandoms and characters.
I spent over two hours there, just walking through the different sets in awe of the detail, from the figures to the scenes to the music. And the staff was so helpful and accommodating - I was there alone (during a work trip) and they were all so kind and willing to take photos for me in all the photo opp spots! I'll remember this visit forever.

What motivated you to start photographing your collection and sharing the photos?

I've loved photography since I was a kid, and have always enjoyed capturing moments, big or small. When Funko became a part of my world... here were these colorful, beautiful, unique characters that could lend themselves to any scene, from my office desk to the Colorado mountains by my cabin!
It's such a fun, social way to connect with other Funko Funatics over our collections as well - I'm in awe of the artistry behind so many of their photos!

What advice do you have for other Funatics taking photos of their collection?

Pick characters you love, and just have some fun with it! What's a unique scene you could put them in? Work on different lighting and depth/angles to see what makes things "Pop!" (pun intended). And follow and participate in the Funko Photo a Day challenges also - those have given me so many great inspirations and ideas!

What Funko lines and fandoms do you collect?

Avengers (especially Thor, Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man), Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, Frozen 2, The Mandalorian, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Freddy Funko, X-Men, Denver Broncos, some Icons, and a smattering of others where I particularly love the specific character or sculpt!

"I'm just so honored to be a part of this Funko community - Funatics are the best, most supportive, positive folks - and I'm so pleased to consider myself a member of our #FunkoFamily!"
