Favorite Horror Movie & Book

It's extremely hard for me to choose favorites when it comes to horror movies; there’s just too many good ones! If I had to choose one of my favorites at this present moment, I’d have to say A Quiet Place. The plot is extremely good and just downright scary. I love how the suspense in the film builds so much so, that it quite literally takes your breath away so “they” don’t hear you while watching!

As for books, my current favorite is The Serpents of Eden by R W Goldsmith. I have waited the past several years for this book to launch, and when it finally did early this year, it did not disappoint! The story is so descriptive that it really immerses you in new, terrifying worlds in the best way possible. Any horror enthusiast would love this post-apocalyptic novel, which is full of action, witty humor, and horror, but is also centered around family at the heart of it. Without giving away any spoilers, it really is unlike any other horror story I can think of because there is just such a variety of hair-raising elements packed into it! I cannot recommend this brilliant new release more!

Favorite Funko Horror Collectible

One of my favorite horror Funko collectibles would have to be Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors. Not only do I love this movie, but I also just think this sculpt is so fun, well designed, and truly captures the uniqueness of this blood-consuming plant! Every time I see it, I hear the “Feed Me, Seymour” song, and it makes me smile. I don’t own this Pop! myself but would love to add it to my collection someday. If I could get my hands on the chase version, even better!

Most-Anticipated Horror Film

When we heard that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice 2) is coming out in September 2024, my husband and I got extremely excited, especially given the fact that original cast members will be starring! I wish an official trailer was out there already, but the excitement is there, nonetheless. My husband is a huge fan of the first film and actually introduced me to the film early on in our relationship. We are both looking forward to seeing this new one together when it’s released.

Favorite Horror Movie

It’s so hard to pick just one because I feel like they fall into different categories, but if I had to choose, I’d have to say An American Werewolf in London. It’s such a good mix of horror, camp, and comedy, and the soundtrack is perfect. The original Pet Sematary, The Shining, and The Craft are all big faves, too.

Favorite Funko Horror Collectible

I have a couple of Elviras, and as the queen of horror, she’s my favorite. She’s an absolute icon and just so cute in Pop! form, and the 40th anniversary diamond version of her is amazing. One of my other favorites is Regan from The Exorcist. The packaging with the “pea soup” splatter is just…*chef’s kiss*.

Most-Anticipated Horror Film

I’m excited about Nosferatu coming out this winter. The cast is just so incredible, and I can’t imagine Bill Skarsgård being anything less than amazing in that role. Also, I know it’s out now and is more comedy than horror, but I do want to see Lisa Frankenstein! It just looks so cute and campy, and I’m a sucker for anything with an eighties theme.

Favorite Horror Movie

It's hard to pin down, but I'll never get tired of Poltergeist or Evil Dead. Currently, I've been obsessed with the Bad Ben series.

Favorite Funko Horror Collectible

I have a collection of horror Pops!, but my favorites are Cheddar Goblin from Mandy and the Diamond Collection Elvira.

Most-Anticipated Horror Film

I have a Nicolas Cage podcast, so I'm super excited to see Longlegs. Also, Late Night with the Devil looks amazing. It gives me strong Ghostwatch vibes.

Favorite Horror Book

I love pretty much any version of IT. The page length made it a daunting pick for my very first Stephen King novel, but I wanted to read the book before watching the 2017 movie, and I'm so glad I did. I loved it so much I've re-read it twice.

Favorite Funko Horror Collectible

Last year, I got my hands on a Guillermo del Toro Pop! He is just my favorite director—full-stop—horror or otherwise. He's got pride of place on my desk.

Most-Anticipated Horror Film

Abigail looks just the right amount of absurd to be right up my alley!
