Limited Edition Pre-Authorization Update: Everything You Need to Know

Hey there, Funko fans!  

We’ve heard you loud and clear: our Limited Edition items sell out FAST, and we want to make sure our fans have the best possible chance of securing their must-have collectibles. We’re making some changes to our Limited Edition drops to make this a reality. Here’s everything you need to know about our new credit card pre-authorization process and how it will help put those most-wanted releases in the hands of our fans! 

Our purchase access drawings are getting an upgrade! Fans looking to buy a Limited Edition item will now be prompted to enter their credit card information for pre-authorization in order to gain entry for a chance to purchase that item.

When entering for a chance to purchase a Limited Edition item, fans will be asked to enter their credit card information. A hold charge in the amount of that Limited Edition item (plus taxes and shipping fees) will be added to their credit card, and the charge will only go through if a person is randomly selected as a winner. Those who are not selected as a winner will see the credit card hold drop off, and they will not be charged for that Limited Edition item.

Limited Edition purchase access winners will be randomly selected after entries close. Winners will receive an email confirming that their item has shipped, and they will see a credit card charge automatically posted to the card used for pre-authorization.

If selected as a winner, fans will have their credit card charged for the amount of the Limited Edition item, applicable taxes, and shipping fees. Once the charge is validated, the Limited Edition item will be shipped immediately to the address on file.

Requiring credit card pre-authorization for Limited Edition purchases helps mitigate bot activity, giving real fans a better chance at winning our collectibles with lower piece counts. Each credit card can only be used once per Limited Edition item, which also increases the odds of winning purchase access!
