When creepy creatures roam far and wide, it’s the perfect night to stay inside. Watch scary movies and prep your snacks—or deck your lair with haunting knick-knacks. There’s so much to do this Funkoween, but thankfully, we have a Scream Team.

Planning a frighteningly fun night in? We asked a few Funko employee horror fans how they prep their Halloween movie watch lists—and their snacks. Don’t forget to check out our Funkoween collectibles and Loungefly gear.

HORROR MOVIE WATCH LISTS & SNACK ATTACKS: TIPS FROM FUNKO EMPLOYEE HORROR FUNATICS

How Do You Create a Halloween Movie List?

“For movies, I pick one or two I watch pretty much every year that make me feel like it's Halloween. Then I'll look for movies that I have heard about through friends but have not gotten to yet. Aside from that, the main considerations are ‘who directed it’ and ‘who scored it!’ I'm sure there is also an element of the ‘if the poster catches my eye,’ but I don't know how to quantify that.” –Conor Manning, Development Operations Engineer 1, Funko

“The biggest thing I consider when making a Halloween movie list is ‘will it put me in the Halloween mood?’ We can watch horror movies all year long, so I try to find movies that really put me in the spirit. For example, one movie I watch every October (multiple times) is Trick ‘r Treat (2007). Not necessarily the scariest, but spooky and so much fun!” –Andrei Lagahit, Web Content Producer, Funko

“I'm also a year-round horror fan (with extra emphasis on summer horror movies), but when it comes to Halloween I love the camp and nostalgia factor. I would say 99% of my friends hate horror movies. So I usually use Halloween as an excuse to at least watch the kiddie campy Halloween stuff like Hocus Pocus and Twitches, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, and Frankenweenie. Also, whenever sequels come out (like Scream IV) it's a good excuse to marathon the series for your horror movie night. New releases will also influence my watches. For instance, I just watched Beetlejuice to prep for the new movie coming out.”  –Kendra Hall, Direct to Consumer Campaign Manager, Funko

Just a Nibble: Dish About the Snacks for a Horror Movie Night In

“For snacks, if I'm really treating myself, Anthony Bourdain has this stupid good recipe for a grilled cheese with caramelized onions that I love to make. It is one of my favorite movie night sandwiches. If I'm keeping it easy AND watching movies by myself, carrots and hummus.” –Conor Manning, Development Operations Engineer 1, Funko

“I’m a simple guy when it comes to snacks. Popcorn with lots of butter is fine with me! I’ll pick up a few ghost/pumpkin Reese's from the store, too.” –Andrei Lagahit, Web Content Producer, Funko

“‘Tis the season for movie marathoning, so movie snacks = girl dinner + spooky theme. It's having Jell-O but putting it in syringes instead of normal cups. A charcuterie board but in the shape of a skeleton. I also like funny little horror names for normal dishes (spaghetti = worms). Also, I think candy salad is very trendy right now.” –Kendra Hall, Direct to Consumer Campaign Manager, Funko.

THINGS THAT GO POP! IN THE NIGHT

Our “scream team” also tells us what they admire most about the Funko and Loungefly Funkoween offerings this time of year:

“I work more on the Loungefly side, uploading glams for products, but this goes for both Loungefly and Funko: what I love most is seeing the amount of creativity our organization has. Creative, Product Development, Photography - I’m always in awe of how clever, detailed, and artistic people are here!” – Andrei Lagahit, Web Content Producer, Funko

“As someone who mainly coordinates and observes the campaigns, I can say that the creative team is soooo fun. Also, seeing which POP! collectibles sell out quickly will usually inspire my next watch. Admittedly, I did miss out on the Terrifier collectibles because the line sold out so quickly. I regretted nearly every second, but I could be influenced again to watch a movie based on how eager people seem to add those fandoms to their collection.”

And, speaking of Terrifier collectibles, one of our artists tells us what it was like to help create this line of collectibles:

“I concepted all the Terrifier POP! collectibles, which were a joy to do. Any time I get to work on a bloody or disgusting POP!, I'm really excited. – Jeff Victor, Designer
